Approved by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China, the China National Symphony Orchestra(CNSO) was founded on the basis of the former Central Philharmonic Society. The China National Symphony Orchestra is a professional orchestra which combines the responsibility system of an artistic director with artistic production as well management mechanism. The present artistic director of CNSO is Mr. Zuohuang Chen, the first Doctor of Musical Arts degree scholar of China, who used to be the artistic director for several overseas orchestras. The China National Symphony Orchestra consists of outstanding musicians chosen by the jury of Chinese and overseas music experts through strict examination. The musicians of the Orchestra have good musicality, superb technique as well as a lot of experience in performances, and some of them are either national international competition winners. They have made many successful tours in European and Asian countries and areas. The establishment of the China National Symphony Orchestra is based on the solid foundation of the achievements of the China's symphony career for the last 40 years. It is believed that the founding of the China National Symphony Orchestra will see a greater development in the history of China's symphony orchestras Under the supports of the Chinese leaders and the people at all walks of life, the China National Symphony Orchestra will do their best to make the Chinese both at home and overseas be proud of their success and development.
